for OCD & Anxiety

PHD, LICENSED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

I am an experienced clinician specialized in treating adults with OCD and anxiety disorders. Instead of letting anxiety run the show, I empower my clients to take back their lives from OCD and anxiety.

I help people who find themselves constantly overthinking, desperate for certainty, and finding themselves doing odd things just to get through the day (hello, compulsions!). Whether you are terrified of your thoughts (hello, obsessions!), exhausted from daily or weekly panic attacks, or spending hours in the internet searching for the meaning of life, I can help. I’ve seen it all, and you are not alone.

Along with other forms of OCD and anxiety, I have a sub-specialty in scrupulosity and the intersection of faith and OCD. I’ve worked with individuals from different faith backgrounds (and atheists, too!) find freedom from the constant cycle of anxiety and guilt. Therapy can help you have faith in faith, again.

Individualized Care

Treatment That Works.

At Leap Counseling, science meets empathy and compassion. I am committed to providing the best possible treatment.

Mental health treatment works best when it is guided by solid science, not guesswork or trends. Research helps us understand what actually helps people feel better, what doesn’t, and why.

Using evidence-based practices doesn’t make therapy rigid or impersonal. I start with methods that are proven to help, and then tailor them to your goals, values, and lived experience.

  • I use a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is supported by decades of research. For OCD, I primarily use exposure and response prevention (ERP), the first-line treatment. I also use exposure therapy for other anxiety disorders.

Other CBT-based treatment modalities may include:

    • Cognitive restructuring for depression

    • Behavioral activation for depression

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) Treatment for body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs)

  • My primary specialty is OCD and anxiety, and I can treat common co-occurring disorders or problems. I offer individual therapy services for:

    • OCD

    • Social Anxiety Disorder

    • Panic Disorder

    • Agoraphobia

    • Phobias

    • Generalized Anxiety Disorder

    • Major Depressive Disorder

    • Body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs)

  • I work with adults 18+ for individual therapy. People with primary diagnosis of OCD or anxiety are typically a good fit.

I serve all PSYPACT States. See if your state is part of PSYPACT here.

Since Leap Counseling is fully virtual, clients must have access to a secure internet connection and a device with a camera, speaker, and microphone for video sessions.

  • I am committed to providing affirming, inclusive care. Therapy is a space where a person’s identities should be respected and valued.

Although the work toward cultural competence is never done, I am committed to ongoing learning, self-reflection, and listening. My goal is to offer care that honors your whole self and meets you with respect, curiosity, and compassion.
